How To Sew: Upcycle Mismatched Socks into Baby Ankle Socks

This is the super quick, easy baby sock tutorial. I have a more complex one for socks with a heel, but this is the quick easy version. Perfect for wearing those baby mocs without socks showing 😉

This version requires a full sock, like the ones pictured below. I’m making socks for my 8-month-old here, though he has small feet for his age.

Fold one in half and draw this simple shape, leaving one edge open but one on the fold.

Cut out your shape from both sides at once.

Fold over the straight edge and sew a zigzag stitch (to allow for stretch).

Sew up the edges with a straight stitch starting on the open side to make sure your edges line up.

Trim any excess and this is what you’re left with.

Flip them right-side-out.

Make all the socks!!!
